Disabilities

Some tours are unfortunately unsuitable for wheelchairs due to steep inclines or historical features which make access difficult or impossible. Whether a tour is suitable or not can be found in the Tour Details section of each tour page.

Disabled customers are welcome on our Tours. We have run tours for the Spinal Injuries Association, Arthritis Queensland, the Queensland Deaf Society and the Sporting Wheelies.

Our informative staff are excellent story tellers full of interesting historical facts, details and knowledge – including stories, cemetery symbolism, history, death & dying, and macabre memorials. Their passion for history will keep you entertained from beginning to end.

Whether it’s describing a cell in Boggo Road Gaol to the vision impaired or navigating safe wheelchair passage through an old cemetery, our creepy, courteous guides deeply enjoy sharing their storytelling with all our customers.

We recommend customers with disabilities book as a private tour so we can ensure the greatest assistance and atmosphere. Please contact History Tours Australia if you would like to discuss your special needs.

Please note that regular public coach tours are not wheelchair accessible. However, wheelchair accessible coaches can be hired by booking a Private Tour.

Tours are very popular for Fundraisers for charities, non-government organisations and support networks. Discounts apply to groups of 20 people or more. Contact us to arrange the details.
